Welcome to the Autism and Aspergers Support Group homepageThe Autism and Aspergers Support Group was formed in 1998 by a group of parents and carers of individuals who had the diagnosis of either Autism or Aspergers Syndrome: both are forms of Autism known as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Today, we are still going strong, with over 200 families and individuals obtaining support through our support meetings, organised events and activities, social groups and by receiving our monthly newsletter. Our ideals were - and still are - for parents, carers, and individuals to come together to help and support each other by sharing stories and to give or seek advice. We welcome all new members - families and/or individuals - who wish to come to our Support Group meetings, our organised events and activities and our social groups. We have guest speakers at our support meetings who provide assistance and insights into the world of Autism, and provide information that will help members of the group in general. We also have an extensive library of books, DVDs and videos relating to ASD, which financial members are welcome to borrow. The Autism and Aspergers Support Group Inc would like to thank the Richmond Club Ltd and Burwood RSL Club Ltd for their generous, ongoing support of our group. The Inner West Group would also like to thank the Luke Priddis Foundation for its most generous grant, which will go a long way in helping us with the various activities that we run for our children and other resources. So please, come along to one of our support meetings - don’t be shy ! It’s a warm and friendly atmosphere that you’ll find. Stay for a cuppa and a chat with people who are in the same boat as you !
