The Autism and Aspergers Support Group was formed in 1998
by a group of parents and carers of individuals who had the
diagnosis of either Autism or Aspergers Syndrome: both are
forms of Autism known as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
The original idea was for the parents or carers to come together
to help and support each other by sharing stories and to give
or seek advice.
In 2001 the group became an incorporated charity and has
grown in strength and character, but has never wavered from
those original ideals to help gain a better understanding
of those on the Autism Spectrum.
Today the group is as strong as ever, with over
200 families and individuals obtaining support by coming to
the support group meetings and/or by receiving our monthly
newsletter.
Our autism support groups have guest speakers who provide
assistance and insights into the world of Autism, and provide
information that will help members of the group in general.
We also have an extensive library of books and videos relating
to ASD, which our support group members can borrow. We welcome
all new members and individuals who wish to come to our Autism
and Aspergers Support Group meetings.
The Autism and Aspergers Support Group Inc would like to
thank the Richmond Club Ltd and Burwood RSL Club Ltd for their
generous, ongoing support of our group.

The brochure for the Autism & Aspergers Support Group
Inc has been reprinted in an updated format and contains
our internet contacts and new membership information.
